Dr. Garrett Starr

Garrett and his wife, Risa, have been married for thirty-seven years. They have three children and four grandchildren. After coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ while in university, Garrett taught English Literature and Biology in high school for eight years. He then followed the calling of the Lord and entered pastoral ministry in 2001.
Garrett has served as a pastor in Texas and comes to Faith Baptist Church with a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God, for godliness and integrity in leadership, for equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, for sharing the Gospel, for intentional disciple-making, and for challenging and equipping men to be the spiritual leaders of their homes.
Garrett earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from McMurry University, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in Apologetics with an emphasis in Hermeneutic Methodology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Theology (Th.M.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biblical Studies/Apologetics from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Garrett also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
